Back pain is the most common issue I help people with everyday. I regularly receive calls from clients stating the words "my back's gone".
So why is back pain so common?
Firstly back pain is always going to more common in modern day life due to the way we live. With most people working long 40 hour weeks, the majority at office desks and manual jobs such as builders, life can be so taxing to our bodies. Unfortunately our back's take the brunt of it. A combination of poor posture, sitting for long periods, texting on our phones and stress all play a part in proudicing back pain.
What can be done?
The easiest decision you can make today is to start moving more! Get up off your chair and start walking around. Our muscles need movement to keep them free and loose. Sitting for long periods isn't going to help this. Secondly invest in yourself for once, rather than always helping others. Book regular massage sessions to reduce stress, tightness and pain. And finally, start learning about the human body - the back in particular. Learn about the muscles used day in day out in our lives and how you can stretch them to keep them loose.
Most people live with back pain but today's your chance to take that next step and do something good for your body!
Maintenance treatment can be a huge game changer for YOU. Think about it from this point of view - you work at a desk 5 days a week for 8 hours per day. Over time your back pain increases and you eventually book in for treatment. The pain is reduced and you feel better but your still suffering with some discomfort. This could take a number of sessions to resolve which in the short term burns a big whole in your pocket.
If you keep on top of your back pain with regular sessions, so either once every month or two months, you're more likely to suffer less. Its all about looking after your body. Most people I know and that's me included, do lots of things for other people but forget about looking after number one. You will be servicing yourself just like you do with a car.
In the long run you will be better off and you can say good bye to back pain!
